Farm ground.
Heavy farm soil drains slowly, so septic here often takes an aerobic design, and a new house on old farmland usually needs a pad and a driveway too. Old home places come down and get hauled off.

San Patricio County has light to dark loam surface soils over clayey subsoils. Mesquite and live oak dot the prairie, and mesquite had to be cleared before much of the land could be farmed.
